FILLING

  • 6 -  8 apples
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

CRUMB TOPPING

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup packed  brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • pinch of salt
  1. Peel, core and slice apples
  2. add white sugar, cinnamon and salt. Stir
  3. Put in an 8 x 8 inch butter pan
  4. Mix together with finger tips crumble topping ingredients.
  5. Spread on top of apples
  6. Bake for 35 - 40 mins, until topping is brown, bubbles up along sides and apples are fork tender. 
  1. If your apples are really tart increase white sugar. (Mar 21, 2019)
