Broadhurst Birthday Cake
Traditional 3 layer cake with chocolate filling.
Cake
- 1 layer white cake
- 1 layer pink cake
- 1 layer chocolate cake
Chocolate Filling
- 1 cup white sugar
- 4 TBSP cornstarch
- 3 TBSP cocoa powder
- 2 cups boiling water
- some butter
- some vanilla
- Make the cakes and cool.
- Make the filling by mixing the sugar, cornstarch and cocoa in a double boiler. Add boiling water, one cup at a time. Both cups might not be required. When smooth and thick, add a chunk of butter and splash of vanilla.
- Spread filling between levelled cake layers.
- If making in the microwave, boil the water first. Should take about 5 minutes in the microwave. Stir often. (Sep 1, 1998)
