Homemade Taco Pizza
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- salt, to taste
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Toppings
- sour cream
- 4 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 - 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced
- olives (optional)
- Prepare your pizza dough. Use a premade crust, or our Quick and Easy Pizza Dough. Spread on prepared pan.
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Brown ground beef with onions and garlic. Drain fat and add pepper, cumin, chili powder, paprika and salt. Mix well.
- Spread sauce on crust, then sprinkle meat on top.
- Cover with shredded mozzarella and bake for 15 minutes or until crust and cheese are browned.
- To serve, drizzle with sour cream, then sprinkle on lettuce, cheese, tomato and olives, if using.
- To substitute chicken for the ground beef, shred cooked chicken and season with taco seasoning. (May 15, 2012)
