Homemade Taco Pizza

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Toppings

  • sour cream
  • 4 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 - 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced
  • olives (optional)
  1. Prepare your pizza dough. Use a premade crust, or our Quick and Easy Pizza Dough. Spread on prepared pan.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  3. Brown ground beef with onions and garlic. Drain fat and add pepper, cumin, chili powder, paprika and salt. Mix well.
  4. Spread sauce on crust, then sprinkle meat on top. 
  5. Cover with shredded mozzarella and bake for 15 minutes or until crust and cheese are browned.
  6. To serve, drizzle with sour cream, then sprinkle on lettuce, cheese, tomato and olives, if using.  
  1. To substitute chicken for the ground beef, shred cooked chicken and season with taco seasoning. (May 15, 2012)
