Brown hamburger meat a little at a time to brown. Remove from pan and drain well. Continue until all hamburger has browned and drained. Put in soup pot.
Add onions to fry pan, fry until translucent, add your carrots and celery, fry another 2 mins add 1 cup water scrapping up bottom of fry pan.. Add your vegetables and juice to soup pot.
Followed by canned tomatoes, canned soup, beef broth, bay leaf, and spices.
If you want Barley add it now.
If you want pasta just before serving, cook pasta according to package. Drain and add to soup.
