Pizza Crust
- 3 1/2 - 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 envelope dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 and 1/2 cups water at 110 F
- 2 tablespoons olive oil plus another 2 teaspoons
- Add 3 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, salt in bowl of mixer. Mix to incorporate Add water and 2 tablespoons of oil. Beat until a ball of dough is formed. About 5 mins. Add more flour a tablespoon at a time, add water a Tablespoon at a time if dry. Scrape dough on a lighlty floured board. Gently knead until a firm ball is formed.
- Grease bowl and add ball, cover and sit for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- Turn dough on floured surface and divide in 2 equal parts for thick crust and 4 equal parts for thin crust. Cover let sit another 10 mins. Spread in your pizza pan. and Add toppings.
- Bake pizza at 424 for 20 mins. Crust should be brown and cheese top should be bubbly and golden.
- Run out of pizza sauce. In a small pot take 1 can tomato sauce, add 1 can tomato paste, add 2 Tablespoons Italian spice. Stir together, bring to boil, and then simmer at low temperature for 15 minutes. It is so good you may never buy pizza sauce again. (Feb 16, 2019)
